90-Day Balance Challenge

More TIME, more money, more freedom

Passion Gives You The Fuel To Stay The Course

Success: It’s not a destination but an ever-evolving journey, and it doesn’t come with a map because there is no one path...

What is the Goal of Pivotous Balance?

“Every individual has gifts and talents that can make a lasting impact. However, only a minority of people utilize those gifts and talents to live up to their full potential. Tying your gifts and talents with your personal purpose not only leads to a more successful career but a significant one.” -Karl Moore, leadership strategist

Guide

  • The first 30 days are deciding what it is you want to achieve.
  • The next 30 days are putting those goals into practice. Measuring the pros and cons deciding if the changes make you happy.
  • The last 30 days is adopting those new actions as habits and behavioral changes that you can do without having to force yourself to do them.

Resources

Motivation is at an all-time high at the beginning of a challenge but, humans are emotional creatures and our feelings toward things change with time.

The Single Key to Finishing Strong is your “What”. “What drives you”??? What makes you want to work on your “why”? When you determine that, you have found the key to your success.

In 2015 I left my Wellness Practice to build a Med Tech Startup. I bootstrapped my way through the process. It was a long and difficult process but it brought me to where I am today. I am a Gemini, Type A personality type (this is Chrissy btw) and I tend to dive in and learn the hard way. But, once I make a mistake or find a way to make my life easier I am quick to pivot and adopt the new solution.

In January 2021 I decided to do Andy Frisella’s 75 Hard Challenge. It’s not a specific diet plan or exercise program, it’s said to be a mental toughness challenge, which I loved and was the reason I opted in. I did want to improve my physical health but I also wanted to start tackling mental blocks and negative self-talk that I felt was holding me back.

I spent 15 years devoting myself to helping people reverse crises and make better lifestyle choices. In one fell swoop, the stress of my startup nearly took my life. I didn't even see it coming.

My entire system turned against me. Everything I ate made me sick, made my skin break out, or made me gain weight. I couldn’t sleep, I was constantly exhausted, and felt horrible most days. But, I would still work around the clock like a madwoman. I just knew it was all going to be worth it in the end!

When people don’t address the little issues or listen to what their gut, intuition, and body is telling them bigger issues invariably arise. When you become obsessed with chasing your dreams, dealing with day-to-day life, or building your passion projects, it’s easy to make excuses not to take care of yourself.

Because you have commitments that need to be met first. Right? People are depending on you and there are not enough hours in the day! Sound familiar? I wouldn’t suggest the path I took to anyone in the world. If only I had a time machine I would go back and give myself a swift kick in the a$$! Seriously, you don’t have to live that way. There are better approaches and you need to surround yourself with the right people to encourage you to love on yourself as you climb the preverbal ladder.

July 6th, we’ll be starting a 90-Day Balance Challenge.

The Goal/Test is to see if you can mentally and physically achieve your interpretation of the perfect combo of Work/Life Balance.

If you are an expert in behavioral changes or offer a service or training on such we would love to interview you on the topic.

We will be documenting the whole process and we are working with a publisher on this project so it will be a book and live challenge after we are finished. If you are interested in joining in on the Challenge let me know and I’ll share more of the details with you!

Learning New Skills and Behaviors

You will notice that our systems are designed around 90-day sprints.

Phillippa Lally is a health psychology researcher at University College London. In a study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology, Lally and her research team decided to figure out just how long it actually takes to form a habit. The study examined the habits of 96 people over a 12-week period. Each person chose one new habit for the 12 weeks and reported each day on whether or not they did the behavior and how automatic the behavior felt.

The study examined the habits of 96 people over a 12-week period. Each person chose one new habit for the 12 weeks and reported each day on whether or not they did the behavior and how automatic the behavior felt.

Some people chose simple habits like “drinking a bottle of water with lunch.” Others chose more difficult tasks like “running for 15 minutes before dinner.” At the end of the 12 weeks, the researchers analyzed the data to determine how long it took each person to go from starting a new behavior to automatically doing it.

The answer?

On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behavior, the person, and the circumstances. In Lally’s study, it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days for people to form a new habit.

In other words, if you want to set your expectations appropriately, the truth is that it will probably take you anywhere from two months to eight months to build a new behavior into your life.

After testing the success of 100’s of entrepreneurs, teams, and businesses we feel certain 90-Day Sprints are the right amount of time to make a change and adopt new habits and behaviors.

Below is a Poem Read by Charlie Chaplin on His 70th Birthday

It was originally written by Kim McMillen

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody if I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow. Today I call it “MATURITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm. Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.

As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first, I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But as I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations, or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born. Today I know “THAT IS LIFE”! (Balance)

90 Days
To Success

We know that if you don’t achieve some sort of substantial success within a 90-day period you are going to consider the program a failure. So below are the steps in the simplest form that you will need to commit to, to find the validation of success you are looking for.

Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
